From the perspective of Chinese medicine, an injury is always due to a local blockage of the free flow of Qi and blood, giving rise to pain, swelling and impaired movement. The therapeutic strategy of Chinese medicine is targeted at removing the blockage.
Our specialists offer highly effective therapies focusing on relieving pain and improving mobility.
In sports, they contribute to faster recovery after injury while optimising performance.
With the reCOVER Programme, the Policlinic offers the entire line of treatment on the highest level, all the way to the ‘return to sports’.
Following a detailed consultation and physical examination, a posture and movement analysis is carried out if necessary. This results in an individual treatment plan that comprises sports acupuncture, manual soft tissue management and, where appropriate, sports physiotherapeutic athletic training. This treatment is often complemented by other methods such as cupping therapy, moxibustion and gua sha. For additional support, treatment can be accompanied by the external and internal application of Chinese herbal medicine.
We combine acupuncture with manual and fascia techniques for particularly effective therapy.
Our soft tissue management is a fusion of many techniques and experiences.
You have a goal. We’ll help you get there.
The use of Chinese medicine to alleviate and stabilise acute and chronic skin diseases, allergies and inflammatory conditions is rooted in a tradition dating back thousands of years.
For the treatment of skin diseases, allergies and inflammatory diseases, Chinese medicinal therapy is the treatment of choice. External applications such as herbal creams, ointments, baths, washes or suppositories are also prescribed to support the internal treatment.
The skin as a reflection of our inner self.
Paediatrics has been a speciality of Chinese medicine for around 1,000 years. It offers forms of treatment that enable gentle, child-friendly and relaxed therapy for young patients.
In children, the body and the flow of Qi in the meridians are still pure, full and free of blockages. Children often react quickly and sensitively to the gentle methods of Chinese medicine. We treat children with Chinese medicinal therapy, gently massage the meridians (Shonishin), apply fine needle patches to acupuncture points or stimulate the points with laser.
Children accept the gentle therapy methods of Chinese medicine without any problems.
The free flow of Qi (life energy) and blood is highly important when it comes to women’s health. Blockages or deficiencies can lead to menstrual or menopausal problems or infertility. Treatment of such disorders with acupuncture and Chinese medicines is gentle and effective. During pregnancy and labour, acupuncture is a gentle approach for alleviating numerous complaints.
Acupuncture and Chinese medicinal therapy are adapted for the different phases of IVF treatment in order to support the process. This can help to optimise the likelihood of pregnancy and alleviate adverse effects of Western hormone therapy. For pregnant women, we focus mainly on acupuncture and work with midwives with specialty training in acupuncture. After the child is born, acupuncture is often used for problems with breastfeeding such as congestion or insufficient lactation and for depression, sleep disorders or exhaustion.
Chinese medicine has a long tradition of treating women at all stages of life.
Acupuncture is an ideal support during pregnancy and in the postpartum period.
We advise and treat you in your home during the postpartum period.
Surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy often weaken the body and commonly lead to side-effects. Chinese medicine and acupuncture are well suited to counteracting these side-effects and helping to improve quality of life.
Once Western cancer therapy has been determined by the oncologist, we discuss with the patient the possibilities of complementary treatment with acupuncture and Chinese medicine and define a treatment plan. Depending on the complaints, treatment consists of regular acupuncture sessions and/or the administration of Chinese medicinal therapy.
Supportive treatment for chemotherapy patients helps alleviating many side-effects and improves quality of life.
Our commitment serves a common goal: achieving a healthy life for patients.
